Gabriel Agbonlahor, 29enne attaccante inglese dell’Aston Villa, è stato sospeso dal suo club perché è stato pizzicato a fumare il narghilè in vacanza. Approfittando della sosta per le nazionali, il centravanti della squadra che occupa attualmente l’ultimo posto della Premier League, si sarebbe lasciato andare un po’ troppo a Dubai, dove è stato pizzicato assieme all’amico e collega Campbell.
Le immagini riprese all’interno di un locale, infatti, “inchiodano” Agbonlahor mentre è intento a fumare un narghilè. Una circostanza che non è piaciuta affatto alla dirigenza dell’Aston Villa, che pure in vacanza richiede ai propri calciatori un comportamento consono a quello di un personaggio pubblico. Per questo motivo, i ‘Villans’ hanno deciso di sospendere il centravanti e di avviare un’indagine interna per fare ulteriormente luce sull’accaduto.
Di sicuro, dunque, Agbonlahor salterà la prossima sfida contro il Chelsea e poi potrebbe essere reintegrato oppure escluso fino a fine stagione dalla prima squadra. Quest’anno, tra l’altro, l’esperto centravanti è andato ben al di sotto delle proprie possibilità, collezionando solo 10 presenze e un gol e contribuendo negativamente alla disastrosa stagione dell’Aston Villa. Con 16 punti in 31 partite, la società è ormai prossima alla retrocessione in Championship.
